About San Diego Informer

San Diego Informer is a practical guide to San Diego County for people who live here, just moved here or are planning a visit. We cover the beaches and trails, what each neighborhood is like, how to get around without a car, and the everyday stuff nobody explains: water-use rules, termites, earthquake prep, the marine layer.

Every guide is checked against official sources such as the City and County of San Diego, MTS, California State Parks, NOAA and the National Weather Service. Rules and hours change, so we link to the agency that sets them.

We're independent: no business pays to be mentioned, and we don't publish crime news or political endorsements.
